Adam's Apple

This term is used for a medical word "Prominentia laryngea"meaning prominence of the larynx or the voice box.This forward protrusion can be seen quite clearly on your dad's,uncle's or elder brother's throat .

When a boy's voice deepens as he grows older,his voice box also grows and shows up as the" bump " on the throat.

A girl's voice box does n't grow as boy's does.

Intrestingly ' most people believe it refers to the forbidden fruit (apple) that Adam ate and which stuck in his throat!

Anxiety ,embarrassment ,stress and fear can cause the Adam's apple to jump sending a non verbal signal to your opponent.
